Microscopic laser welding uses a concentrated heat source, allowing for narrow, deep welds. This type of weld is often used for molds, tools and medical devices. It allows for intricate build-up to revise, repair or join parts.

The spot size of the laser can be set from .005” to .100. The depth of penetration is proportional to the amount of power supplied but is also dependent on the location of the focal point.

 

  • Control of the laser beam power supply enables our technicians to join and coil two wires with a diameter of .0015.​

  • Controlling the power supply also allows us to control sink and produce airtight welds.
